out of the pub at last.
ah, the joys of the internet... i've been tagged by dave and now must list five things about me that not many people know:
1) i had my head shaved (a 'blade 4') for the first time in 1994 - after my leaving cert french exam. i wanted to do it earlier but was afraid the nuns wouldn't let me go to classes. in 1997 aonghus shaved my head properly with a razor and shaving foam. a few years later a japanese colleague of his saw a photo of me with the shaved head and said i could have made a fortune as a rent boy in tokyo.
2) in college i was (and still continue to be) remorselessly slagged by my friend billy for once telling him, in all earnestness that 'i wasn't always cool you know!'.
3) my very first web page (circa 1996) was a single page consisting of 'the adventure of penelope peach' - a story i wrote in the back of an electromagnetics lecture. my friend peter put it online for me, stuffing it full of hidden porn related illicit keywords to increase the potential hit count.
4) after i've brushed my teeth, i brush my tongue. it's a habit i picked up from aonghus and it's very satisfying! i highly recommend it.
5) when i was nine i came second in the 'wellie-boot race' at our school sports day. you had to run half the length of the track in a pair of your parent's wellingtons, then, at the half way point, swap the boots onto the wrong feet and run rest of the way. i think i did so well because i had really big feet (even aged nine) and my mum's boots weren't actually that big on me.
