went to a super cheese and wine tasting event yesterday evening with some of aonghus' work people. twas pretty amazing sitting around, eating cheese and drinking wine for 3 hours! and all the while three very personable experts (Kevin Sheridan on cheese, David Whelehan & Paolo Tullio on wine) pointed out (in an informal, chatty, pleasant sort of a way) some of the various characteristics of each.
can't say i actually remember much of what was said (or tasted) (i shamefully neglected my tasting notes) but i reckon if i expose myself to this kind of thing enough, hopefully some of it will start to sink in.
and given that we're off to the south of france for easter to see the parents' new house, there should be plenty more exposure coming our way ;)
