during the 'great holga competition of 2007' i got a bit of a resurgence of interest in using my holga again and in february i took a single roll of black & white film with it.
the exposed roll of film then sat gathering dust on a shelf for about a month.
then it rolled around in the bottom of my bag for another couple of weeks.
when i eventually managed to remember to bring it in to be processed they said they'd have to send it away - it would be back in a week.
a fortnight later (after i'd dropped in to collect it and it wasn't back yet) they called and i finally had the blurry prints in my hands - and despite my specifying 5x5in prints with NO CROPPING, they were 4x6in and had been cropped to within an inch of their life. grr...
so i ended up scanning the negatives instead - with my pretty crappy scanner, and ta da!! this is the glorious blurry, overexposed, underfocussed, light-leaky result...
phew. it makes me so glad i've gone digital! the combination of my apalling absentmindedness, my mediocre scanner and the poor quality of printing in dublin mean using film is no longer an option.
Yep, I reckon it was the scanner, otherwiise they would have been perfect.
