this was taken at the end of the groot river walk at nature's valley in tsitsikamma national park. the walk's map suggested that somehow we could ford the river mouth (from where i took this photo to the headland opposite where the people are) but it didn't look very possible (without a thorough soaking) so we just went back the way we had come - which was fun anyway coz part of the path looked like it had been washed away in a recent flash flood and there was a wee bit of scrambling to do - always good for an adventure!
we spent two nights in a very comfortable cabin in this national park - and in general found the national parks in south africa to be very well organised. most of them having accommodation that could be booked online!
