we finally made it into the museum of decorative art and history at collins barracks today.
i say finally, because for more than a year we've been living in stoneybatter a stone and a half's throw (i can't throw very far) from it - regularly passing through the grounds as a short cut to the luas stop, but still hadn't managed a visit.
looks like it was a good day to visit too as they had some viking activities going on in the courtyard. there were beardy men in woolen leggings & chainmail shouting and brandishing spears at each other which was quite entertaining.
the shot above was taken in the car park and you can make out the willy wonka chocolate factory style guinness's brewery buildings to the left of the tree.
I live even closer to Collins Barracks (next door!) and still haven’t been inside, so I wouldn’t feel bad 🙂 The Viking boat is lovely, though.
i don’t feel too bad – though twas nice to get in there eventually. and the viking boat is definitely a highlight. it’s sooo big!
i really love this!!!!
