i didn't mean this photo to be deliberately blurry when i took it, but a shaky hand or too low light conspired to make it so (like a lot of photos i take that never make it here) and looking back on it this evening i decided i actually quite liked it.
my favourite bit is the in-focus petal edge at the top of the frame.
hyandrangeas (as i thought i'd said here before, but now can't find where) are one of my favourite flowers - so much so that they featured in my wedding bouquet (a photo of which is on flickr here), so i have a tendency to snap photos of them whenever i see them.
I love the way you say “they featured in my wedding bouquet” no word for your poor father who nearly got arrested stealing them for same bouquet!…….Oh Sharper than a serpents tooth is an ungrateful child.
see… this is why i avoided the words for so long in this blogging game – say nothing, and no one can get offended!! also, i thought it safer not to publicise your theft inclined side (though i am *of course* enormously grateful for it).
Consider yourself forgiven (and I love the picture) and I got the quotation wrong it should be :”How sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is to have a thankless child” (and I guess the statute of limitation on nicked hydrangeas is up at this stage)
Sometimes the blur just works, its so nice to see a, how do I say this without sounding rude, badly taken shot look so wonderful.
You have given me an idea for a collection of images I may well look into.
