i was attending the (exhaustingly impressive) dublin web summit today, and this is definitely my highlight (so far - it continues tomorrow); james whealton, an inspirational 20 year old(!) has set up coder dojo - a system of volunteer-led computer clubs where kids can learn how to program.
i'm obviously counting the days til i can push fionn & ruadhán to attend.
the (badly taken) shot above features james, paddy cosgrave (organiser of the dublin web summit) and four coder-dojo students - some of whom (at as young as ten years old) are already producing web and smart phone applications. if there was ever a ringing endorsement of the future of irish technology that's it right there!
